What we do for climate-neutral production
Back in 2008, we set ourselves the goal of transitioning to climate-neutral production. Since then, we've been working to avoid CO2 emissions and reduce them by expanding renewable energy. As a family business, we know that green blabber doesn't bring us a future – and we're acting accordingly!

We invest in smart technologies
Since we set our sights on the goal of climate neutrality in 2008, we've been carefully examining every Develey plant to select the most suitable technologies for each location. As a company, we have even more to share about sustainability. Take a look here !
Unterhaching location
Save energy with a central refrigeration system. The central refrigeration system uses CO2 as a natural refrigerant, ensuring sustainable cooling and heat recovery.
Heating with geothermal energy through connection to the geothermal energy system. Since 2013, almost all processes can be heated with geothermal energy – 100% of the heat for heating comes from deep geothermal energy.
Dingolfing location
We produce biogas with a wastewater treatment plant. Our wastewater is treated to a drinking water quality level. We generate biogas from wastewater residues, which is then converted into electricity using our combined heat and power plant.
Covering heating needs with wood chips. Our wood chip plant has been providing our entire heating needs since 2012. The results are impressive: We save around 3,000 tons of CO2 per year.
Pfarrkirchen location
Generating our own electricity through photovoltaics. PV modules have been installed over several square meters, supplying the business with electricity from renewable sources. This saves us tons of carbon dioxide.
In harmony with the environment
We tackle the issue of sustainability head-on, not just talk around it. We are guided by the mantra "Avoid, reduce & communicate," which runs through all Develey areas of activity. "Production" is one of three areas of activity where we are primarily concerned with avoiding emissions as much as possible.
